Xiaomi continues to be a massive presence in the mid-range segment with its Redmi Note smartphone series, and the brand has elevated its offerings with the introduction of the latest Redmi Note 13 series.
This newly unveiled series boasts an impressive array of specifications and showcases a sophisticated and premium design. Comprising three models – the Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ – we had the opportunity to review the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, and it unquestionably stands out as one of the most aesthetically pleasing smartphones in the Redmi Note series that the company has ever released.
The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 31,999 and is powered by a MediaTek chipset. The smartphone also offers 120W fast charging support and a 200MP main camera for photography. We used this mid-range smartphone for some time and here’s our complete review of the same.

Design

The mid-range Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone’s design is one of its main highlights.
It is undoubtedly one of the best-looking Notes series smartphones launched by the company. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has a simplistic and minimalist design. It comes in three colour options: Fusion White, Fusion Purple, and Fusion Black. We received the Fusion Black colour option, which is both elegant and classy. The rear panel of the smartphone is divided into two parts.
The upper part of the smartphone consists of a symmetrically placed rear camera setup and the Redmi branding.

The rear panel is smooth and its curved edges offer a firm grip to the user. The company has neatly placed the power button and the volume rockers on the right side of the smartphone. The bottom of the smartphone is home to the USB Type C charging port and SIM card tray.
The famous infrared sensor is placed on the top part of the smartphone. The front of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is dominated by a 6.6-inch OLED display which houses a centre-aligned front camera. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with an IP68 rating which makes it resistant to water and dust. In all, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ scores high in the design department.
Its elegant design will give tough competition to many premium smartphones available in the market.

Display

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with a crisp display which will surely impress you with its output. The mid-range Redmi smartphone houses a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with a 1220x2712 pixel resolution. The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1800 nits of peak brightness levels.
The screen on the smartphone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top which will protect it from scratches. The high refresh rate offers a smooth scrolling experience to the users and it also enhances the viewing experience. Also, the 1800 nits of peak brightness levels deliver pretty good visibility under direct sunlight. Apart from adding a premium feel to the smartphone, its curved display also enhances the user experience.
The curved display of the smartphone provides vibrant colour reproduction, elevating the experience of binge-watching and gaming on the device. The inclusion of Dolby Vision manages to fulfill all your multimedia needs and will impress you with its visual quality. The display on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ offers a Reading Mode which adjusts the colours and textures of the items on your screen allowing your eyes to relax.
Also, the colour scheme options of the display take the user experience to a comfortable level.

Performance

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra smartphone. It comes in three variants — 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. The dual SIM mid-range smartphone offers a smooth and lag-free user experience.
The smartphone delivered a crisp experience during multi-tasking and we did not notice any overheating issues during our long gaming sessions. We also did not notice any shutters during app switching and the smartphone also delivered a smooth image processing. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos. The smartphone delivered a loud and clear audio experience.

Coming to the software, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ runs Android 13 operating system topped with the company's own layer of MIUI 14. The company has also promised that it will soon roll out the Xiaomi HyperOS update to the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The smartphone comes with a lot of bloatware which will not be liked by many. MIUI 14 introduces an improved aesthetic appeal with a revamped settings page, focusing on enhancing user experience.
The redesign involves minimising redundant entries, adopting narrower line spacing, and incorporating more recognisable icons, making it simpler for users to access desired settings.

Furthermore, MIUI 14 empowers users with additional tools for an enriched experience, catering to their creativity. New features, such as the ability to extract text from a photo in the gallery, remove objects from images, and a voice-activated shutter that responds to commands like "cheese" to automatically capture favourite moments, are seamlessly integrated to meet diverse user needs.

Camera

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ sports a triple rear camera setup with a 200MP main sensor, 8MP ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The front of the smartphone houses a 16MP selfie camera.

The camera app on the mid-range Redmi smartphone is clean and easy to use.
The shutter button is placed in the centre and above it you will find the various shooting modes. You can access the recently clicked images by tapping on the left of the shutter button and can switch between the rear and front cameras by tapping on the right. The smartphone also offers a dedicated option for the 200MP sensor which manages to capture sharp and detailed images.
The image quality is surely impressive on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The photos captured with the 200MP sensor turned out to be bright and had a negligible amount of noise. The camera also very well reproduces multiple colour combinations.

In contrast, the 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor does not perform as well as its rivals.
When compared to the primary camera, it exhibits a significant difference in colour accuracy. In daylight, its performance is only average, and it struggles to handle artificial or low-light situations. The 2MP macro camera, on the other hand, does an excellent job, and you can easily take great macro photos with it. Overall, the smartphone provides a decent camera experience.

Battery

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is backed by a 5000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The smartphone manages to last a day of mixed usage on a single charge. The 120W fast charging support manages to charge the smartphone completely within 30 minutes which is quite impressive. With the fast charging support, you will never run out of juice.

Verdict

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with a starting price tag of Rs 31,999. The smartphone sports an elegant and classy design. It packs a powerful mid-range chipset and delivers a lag-free performance. The 200MP camera on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will also impress you with the image output and the 120W charging support works as an added advantage.
If you are looking for a well-built 5G smartphone under the budget of Rs 35,000, then Redmi Note 13 Pro+ can be your pick.
