Google, Microsoft and 8 other tech companies that cut more than 1,000 jobs in January 2024

The year 2024 has not started on a great note for technology companies. The first month of the year has been marred by job cuts at both big and small IT companies. According to data from layoffs.fyi website, 115 technology companies across the globe cut more than 30,000 jobs in January 2024. The big names include Microsoft, Google and Amazon. Here are ten companies that reportedly cut more than 1,000 jobs in the first month of 2024.

1000 workers lost their jobs as the tech major announced its latest round of layoff on January 10. Google-parent Alphabet’s CEO Sundar Pichai has even warned employees to be prepared for more job cuts in 2024.
